Target Field LEED® Air Testing
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Client: Mortenson Construction
Services: LEED air testing
Year: 2010
Before Target Field officially opened to the public, we were retained to complete air quality testing to satisfy LEED New Construction Environmental Quality (EQ) Credit 3.2, Option 2 – Air Testing requirements. Air testing was conducted in 32 different locations throughout the complex, including the service level, main concourse, mezzanine level, club level, suite level and terrace level.
The air test parameters included formaldehyde, total volatile organic compounds, particulates (PM10), carbon monoxide and 4-phenylcyclohexene (4-PCH). In addition, we conducted measurements for temperature, relative humidity and carbon dioxide.
Target Field was awarded LEED® Silver Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, making it the second Major League ballpark in the U.S. to achieve that status. By collecting the most certification points awarded to a ballpark, Target Field is now the greenest ballpark in America.
