The Northrop Auditorium at the U of M needed to undergo extensive renovation. The University retained us to evaluate its exterior envelope, so that any repairs could be made as part of the construction process.
Using infrared technology, we investigated the roof and wall systems to identify areas with moisture and potential leakage. In tandem with visual inspection and selected samples of masonry products, we found the areas of highest risk and developed appropriate repair solutions. We also used cameras and x-rays to review the piping systems to determine pipe erosion or sedimentation. These tests allowed us to determine how to repair the structure without creating new problems.
