Construction Testing/Observation provides timely contractor corrective action helping to minimize unnecessary repair costs.

Construction Testing / Observation Services

Systematic testing and observation identifies problems early in construction, enabling corrective action before paving or other finished landscaping begins.

Construction testing and observation services define accountability, and minimize costly repairs later in the life of the HVAC system. We all know that the cost of isolating and repairing buried geothermal piping later in the life of the project can be significant.  Even when installed correctly, many factors, including mud, dust, weather, and construction site traffic can all diminish finished quality and operational reliability of the GHX system.  Our cost- effective program of observations and progress testing improves construction control, and defines accountability between the designer and contractor.  Once a problem is identified, we can recommend repairs more easily with less risk of collateral damage and get the project back on track.

Professional construction observationperformed by qualified geologists and IGSHPA-trained special observers enhances quality control.  Through observation we can determine if contractor methods conform to design intent and comply with regulations.  Due to our comprehensive progress testing protocol, our observers need not be on site full-time.  Fewer visits contribute to greater service affordability without compromising quality control.
Progress testing of all ground heat exchangers before connection to lateral piping allows us to comprehensively evaluate conformance to design intent and regulation. It also give us the opportunity to provide greater assurance that each heat exchanger flows without restriction, holds pressure, is of proper depth, and grouted to specification.  Project-specific protocols for grout sampling and analytical testing of thermal and hydraulic conductivity provide assurance that the heat exchangers conform to IGSHPA standards and state regulation.

System integrity testing utilizing patent-pending technologyprovides clear evidence of leak-free system integrity.  Unlike metallic piping, polyethylene systems expand under pressure, making it difficult to confirm leak-free integrity.  Our proprietary technology and automated testing process, in accordance with ASTM F2164, provides unequivocal leak testing results with the highest degree of dependability.
