HISTORY
In 1957, company founder Jack S. Braun was newly graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He started providing soil testing services from his Minneapolis home. As the company evolved to adapt to industry changes, new services were added, including an environmental laboratory in 1981 and the purchase of a pavement management company.
Moving beyond Minnesota.
Expanding beyond Minnesota borders, Braun brought the business to other states, including North Dakota, Montana and Oregon. In 1990, Braun Intertec was incorporated.
Blending tradition with innovation.
Being successful in today’s environment comes from exploring innovative ways to expand our traditional services into emerging markets. Sometimes being in the right place at the right time presents that opportunity. One recent opportunity for Braun Intertec came in the way of acquiring a geothermal consulting service, Braun Intertec Geothermal, to complement our traditional geotechnical and environmental consulting group services. Providing a new service offering that provides economical as well as environmental benefits to our clients helps sustain our business as well as the world around us.
Creating a legacy of leadership.
We also blend tradition with experience when it comes to our three generations of employee-owners. Each person is valued for the skills and experience she or he brings to the organization at every stage of his or her career. We recognize that with experience comes wisdom. As a result, we are creating new roles for some employees and offering opportunities for them to refocus their careers within the company rather than enter retirement. It’s become a win-win model for Braun Intertec and our employees. Refocusing careers and roles also provides a strong foundation for building trust-based relationships and sharing our resources with future generations.
Becoming a Consultant of Choice.
Today, Braun Intertec continues to be a leading engineering, environmental and testing consultant, with a staff of more than 500 employee-owners spanning 14 offices across the Upper Midwest. As we continue to build relationships in emerging markets and recruit new talent, we never lose sight of our humble beginnings and the many strong and supportive relationships we’ve formed along the journey. It’s our goal to be the Consultant of Choice. Each of our employees is dedicated to making this goal a reality every day through our client and business partnerships.
